  • Showing promise as a junior, Tomic was a multiple Australian title holder and made it known she was going to be a force to be reckoned with when she won the individual pursuit and points race at the 2007 Junior World Championships, breaking the world record in the individual pursuit in the process. In the same year she won the junior time trial at the Road World Championships, announcing herself to the world as a superstar in waiting.
  • After taking out the multi-discipline omnium event at the 2009 Australian Track Championships, the West Australian went on to become the inaugural world champion at the 2009 Track World Championships in Poland, while also winning the bronze in the team pursuit. Despite crashing out in the omnium in the following year, she won the 2010 World Championship title in the teams pursuit.
