- Hope Munro (nee Brown) competed for Australia at the Beijing 2008 Games, finishing 5th.
- On the eve of the 2010 World Cup, Munro retired to spend more time with her family - she has two daughters. Under new coach Adam Commens in 2011 Murno decided to return to hockey and in November was announced as a member of the Olympic squad for London and the journey began again.
- In addition to her Olympic experience, Munro won gold at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and has also competed in five Champions Trophy campaigns, including winning silver in 2009.
- Munro is one of five siblings and her younger brother Kiel Brown is also an international hockey player and won bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In addition, both of her parents were elite hockey players.
- Munro also works for the Western Australian Football Commission and the East Fremantle Football Club.
