- Jayde Taylor debuted for Australia at the age of 25 and is making up for lost time. Just one month after her international debut and with less than a dozen games under her belt, Taylor was named in the 2010 World Cup squad for her intellect and composure in defense.
- Months later Taylor competed at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India and won gold.
- The rapid rise into the Hockeyroos surprised even Taylor. She had spent five years on the national development squad since representing Australia at the 2005 Junior World Cup and feared her shot at becoming a Hockeyroo was over. Taylor put her university studies on hold to give it one more shot and the gamble has payed off.
- She became a regular in the team in 2011 as she racked up 25 international caps that included playing the Champions Trophy where the Hockeyroos finished 6th.
- Taylor was again amongst the most capped players to start the Olympic year and her strength in defense will be called upon at her first Olympic Games in London.
