  • Casey Dellacqua will return to Olympic competition in London alongside doubles partner Sam Stosur having made her debut in Beijing.
  • Dellacqua played her first grand slam as a wildcard at the 2003 Australian Open but it was not until 2007 until she made it into the 2nd round of a grand slam in 2007 where she achieved this at the US Open. She broke into the top 100 in midway through 2007 and had accumulated 11 singles and 13 double titles on the ITF circuit since her debut by the end of the year.
  • In what was a breakthrough year, Dellacqua made the finals of the women's doubles in the 2008 French Open with Francesca Schiavone before going down to Spaniards Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual. She went on to compete with Nathalie Dechy at Wimbledon before going down to Serena and Venus Williams. She also made the 4th round of the Australian Open and the 3rd round of the French Open and Wimbledon in the singles draws as she moved up to a career high singles ranking of 41.
  • Competing at the Beijing Games, Dellacqua lost in the 2nd round of the singles draw to future world number 1 Victoria Azarenka. She teamed up with Athens singles bronze medallist Alicia Molik in the doubles but lost to Italy's Francesca Schiavone and Flavia Pennetta in the 1st round.
  • Having claimed the mixed doubles at the 2011 French Open with American Scott Lipsky, she went on to make the semi finals in the 2012 WTA Brussels Open, with compatriot Anastasia Rodionova, and 2012 ITF Kangaroo Cup to build up for her doubles assault on the London Games.
