- Clayton Fredericks took his Games debut in his stride as he excelled on the Olympic stage at the Beijing 2008 Games aboard Ben Along Time. Alongside London bound teammates Shane Rose and wife Lucinda, he won silver behind Germany in the teams event while finishing 7th in the individual.
- He began riding at the age of eight before taking up cross country when he was 16 after entering a Pony Club event. It would be long progression for Fredericks who would make his Olympic debut 25 years later.
- He competed at the 2006 World Equestrian Games where he jumped a clear show jumping round as he claimed the silver medal individual and team bronze in Aachen Germany. He went on to win the Lexington Kentucky 4* event for the Rolex Trophy in 2007.
- Fredericks' 2012 Olympic campaign hit a stumbling block when he was hospilitalised after a fall at the Saumar event in France. He made a quick recovery to win the 2012 CIC3* Renswoude event in the Netherlands and cement his spot in the Australian Team.
- A valued trainer in the sport, he regularly travels to Germany and Hong Kong to teach the next crop of equestrian stars while also taking up the role of team trainer for the Hong Kong team at the 2002 Asian Games. Fredericks spends his time off the horses as the lead singer of his rock band Snatch.
