  • Jamie Beadsworth has made a made a remarkable comeback to the sport having suffered a stroke after an accidental kick to the neck in a National Water Polo League game in 2011. His focus immediately turned away from the World Championships and London 2012 and to regaining his full health. He returned to competition at the 2011 World University Games where he was Australia's best player.
  • Having first taken up the sport with his sister Gemma when he was 10, Beadsworth will now compete alongside his sister, a member of the Aussie Stingers, as they both compete at their second Olympic Games in London.
  • He was a member of the back to back bronze medal winning World League Finals teams of 2007 and 2008 before being selected to compete at the Beijing Olympics. The team finished 8th with Beadsworth getting his name on the scorers sheet in the preliminary match against Montenegro which ended a 5-5 draw.
  • Beadsworth competed at the 2011 World University Games where Australia could not replicate their gold medal winning performance from 2009, finishing 12th.
  • He has won four National Water Polo League titles with the latest being the 2012 Championship with his team the Fremantle Mariners. He has also finished runner up in the competition four times. Having completed his degrees in law and commerce, Beadsworth spends his time out of the pool working as a lawyer.
