Bayley Pre-nominated for Beijing

AIS/WAIS cyclist Ryan Bayley has today been pre-nominated by Cycling Australia to appear in his second Olympics at Beijing.Ryan Bayley

Bayley along with Daniel Ellis, Mark French, Shane Kelly and Anna Meares have been pre-nominated, with the final ratification to take place on July 4.

Bayley who won two gold medals in Athens will race as part of Australia’s track sprint team, and his experience could prove vital again in Beijing.

The track sprint team was the only group pre-nominated by Cycling Australia.

Shane Kelly is in line to represent Australia at his fifth Olympic campaign after out-clocking Ben Kersten in a closed door time-off.

Kersten rode first posting a time of 39.934seconds before Kelly bettered that mark soon after, stopping the clock at 39.198seconds.
