Durbridge Under-19 Road Champ

WAIS rider Luke Durbridge has enjoyed a successful Under-19 Road Race campaign in Murwillumbah, NSW after the debutant claimed victory over a strong field to cement his reputation as a real talent for the future.

Durbridge was understandably delighted with his efforts, following on from his third place finish in Thursday’s Under-19 National ITT event.

“I knew I had good legs before the race. I previously did a track camp for the Junior Worlds coming into this, and I felt I was in with a chance today, if my road legs were in good shape,” Durbridge said.

“I’m setting myself up for the Junior Worlds in July, hopefully taking out the team Pursuit. And whatever other rides I get will be a bonus.”

Durbridge finished well clear of ACT’s Alastair Loutit and NSW’s Aaron Donnelly who finished second and third respectively.
