WAIS netball scholarship holders Shae Bolton and Courtney Bruce have re-signed with ANZ Championship club West Coast Fever on multiple year contracts.

Bolton, in her seventh year with West Coast Fever, was a stand out player in the 2014 season as she embraced the wing defence position in response to Ashleigh Brazill’s season ending wrist injury.

Having played alongside newly appointed head coach Stacey Rosman, Bolton was full of optimism for the 2015 season and praise for Rosman.

“I’m so excited about Stacey as Head Coach, personally she has been my mentor for many years. We played together for a year and effectively I was taking her position but she already started coaching me back. Even when she wasn’t involved with Fever she took time to coach and mentor me.”

The self-confessed netball nerd admits she started to lose the passion for netball at the end of the 2013 season but it was a proactive decision on her part to step out of her comfort zone and take the opportunities presented to her.

“I stopped thinking and it unleashed another side of me on the netball court. I’ve always trained really hard and had a good work ethic but I think I have finally matured enough to let of those demons that have held me back in years prior.”

Australian 21U silver medallist, Bruce has signed on for her fourth season with West Coast Fever and is excited about the restructure of the team’s defence end in 2015.

“I’m looking forward to seeing our new defence end come together in the coming weeks and playing a role in creating a formidable defensive structure.”

West Coast Fever will return to preseason training on December 1.
