HBF Stadium has this week hosted the 2019 Australian Age Diving Championships in Perth with a local young talent shining bright.

14 year-old Floreat resident Hayley Galvin has marked herself as one of the country’s best young talents, with the WA junior winning three gold medals across her age group.

On Monday she opened her campaign with victory in the final of Girls 14/15 1 Metre Springboard with a score of 267.05.

This was enough to finish ahead of Queensland’s Sascha Noort (247.10) and South Australia’s Lily-Scarlett Madden (236.50).

She returned to action on Tuesday to add the Girls 14/15 3 Metre Springboard title with a score of 281.60. Madden (257.00) again took bronze, whilst silver went to Victorian diver Sabine Keenan (270.65).

And on Thursday she climbed the summit of the 10m platform to win gold in the Girls 14/15 Platform final.

Her score of 247.25 was just a fraction ahead of Keenan who settled for silver again, with a highly competitive total of 246.10. NSW’s Imogen O’Brien was third on 207.40.

20 year-old Mount Lawley diver Tianna Furness claimed victory in the Womens 19-24 1 Metre Springboard with a total of 270.60, ahead of WA’s Sophie Debenham (265.35) in third. Chloe Marshall of South Australia took second on 267.65.

Furness added a silver medal in Womens 19-24 3 Metre Springboard with the title won by Marshall.
