Irvine and Hains Succeed on the Gold Coast

Western Australian divers Tamara Irvine and Nikita Hains have finished a strong campaign at the Australian Diving Grand Prix on the Gold Coast finishing the Women’s Platform Synchro event with a score of 285.57 whilst also achieving success in the Individual Women’s Platform event.

The synchro diving pair began their campaign on Sunday with the Platform Synchro.

 

Here they were able to achieve consistent performances across all five of their dives, recording their highest score in round three with a dive difficulty rating of 2.9.

 

In the individual Women’s Platform event both divers came away with a top five finish.

 

Hains recorded a score of 263.05 to finish in second place whilst Irvine finished in fifth place with a score of 221.05.

 

 Fellow Western Australian diver Teju Williamson also competed in the Women’s Platform where she finished in tenth place with a score of 172.75.

 

The Grand Prix saw Rio bronze medallist, Maddison Keeney take to the stage to compete in the Mixed 3m Synchro event alongside Queenslander Domonic Bedggood.

 

The pairing took the title over their South Australian rivals, earning a score of 305.58.
