WAIS rowers Jacqueline Swick, Genevieve Hart and Alex Rossi have been selected in the Australian Rowing Team for the U23 World Championships in Verese, Italy in July.

Swick and Hart form half of the women’s coxless four and are joined by Victorian Institute of Sport athletes Paige Barr and Eliza Gaffney. Both have relocated to the Eastern States to prepare for the Championships, as well as World Cups with the Senior Australian Team.

Alex Rossi will form part of the men’s quad sculls lineup with Victorian pair Lukas MAtic and Xavier Hall-Sullivan and Marcus Della Marta from NSWIS.

Rowing Australia Deputy Performance Director, Jaime Fernandez OLY, said “It cannot be underestimated the significant challenges and hurdles that our young athletes, their coaches and families have had to overcome over the past two years to get to these Trials. It is wonderful that we can now look to send crews internationally to compete once again.”
