Janz Addition Completes Fever Squad

The West Coast Fever Squad for 2012 has been finalised with the signing of WAIS scholarship holder and Fever favourite, Josie Janz.

At 23, Janz will be entering her fourth year in the Championship, and is understandably pleased to be facing the challenge ahead.

“2012 will definitely be a new experience at Fever, and I am really looking forward to learning from the best”.

“I’ve always respected Coxy (Cath Cox) as an opponent. I’ve enjoyed the challenge of playing against her, being a mobile shooter, and I am looking forward to learning from her as her team mate.”

A strong performance at the Australian Netball League made the final signing an easy decision for Head Coach Norma Plummer.

“Josie was a standout player at ANL, not only for Western Sting, but across the whole competition. She is a strong defender and fits in really well with the line up.”

Janz completes a ferocious back four, joining Chanel Gomes, Eboni Beckford-Chambers and long-term team mate Susan Fuhrmann. With the roster complete for her first ANZ Championship Head Coach tenure, Plummer is chomping at the bit to get started.

“We have put together a talented squad with just the right mixture of experience and youth. Whilst the girls won’t begin daily training with me till January, they all have access to training programs and advice to ensure they are more than ready to hit the ground running in 2012.”

Janz will be one of six WAIS scholarship holders in the 2012 Fever outfit, with the powerful defender joined by Susan Fuhrmann, Shae Bolton, Sarah East, Caitlin Bassett and Andrea Gilmore.
