Littlewood Set to Take on the State

Published On: 28 September 2017

After a number of impressive performances in International events earlier this year, Western Australian sailor Zac Littlewood will return to where it all began as he prepares to compete in the City of Rockingham 2017 Western Australian Youth Championships.

A consistent entrant in the event Littlewood said “this event is really important for those trying to qualify for state squads and for everyone else applying skills they’ve learnt.”

“It’s also a great lead up to the competitive summer season here in WA. The level of coaching is world-class, with the competition each year being quite fierce considering that the fleets are quite a lot smaller than the open nationals and youths.”

After coming second in the U17 Division of the Youth World Championships and then claiming bronze in the Open Division, Littlewood proved that he can mix it with some of the best Laser Radial sailors in the world.

He will be looking to bring this same form as he goes head to head with some of the best sailors the state has to offer.

The event will be hosted by The Cruising Yacht Club of Western Australia where entries across the nine boat classes are nearing triple figures.
