Ahead of next month’s Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, there is one WA couple looking forward to competition more than most.

In early 2016, Sydney-sider Ian Dewhurst moved to Perth to be with partner and fellow hurdler Brianna Beahan.

In a feature for Channel 7’s Today Tonight – Sports Extra segment, Dewhurst revealed that he is the more romantic of the pair whilst Beahan said that representing her country alongside her partner on the Gold Coast would make her senior debut all the more special.

Dewhurst will compete in the men’s 400m hurdles at Carrara Stadium in what will be his second appearance at Commonwealth level, whilst for Beahan, she will go toe to toe with world champion Sally Pearson in the women’s 100m hurdles.
