The West Coast Fever has secured the services of WAIS pair Ash Neal and Sarah Ebbott to finalize their 2010 playing roster.

Neal and Ebbott will join the ranks of the ANZ Championship side alongside fellow Western Australian Institute of Sport products such as Diamonds defender Susan Fuhrmann, Under 21’s representative Caitlin Bassett and Andrea Gilmore.

WAIS netball head coach Michelle Wilkins said the girls were “ecstatic” with their elevation and claimed the pair would add a new edge to the Fever squad.

“Ash is an exciting goal attack who is extremely fit and dynamicon court.Sheis a creative player wholoves to take long shots, and has good accuracy,” Wilkins said.

“Sarah is a strong and powerful centre court who has worked her way back from injury (2007 hip operation) with excellent performances at the National 21 Championships and the recent ANL competition.”

Both Neal and Ebbott have been on WAIS scholarship since 2005, with Ebbott also holding an AIS scholarship in 2007-08. Neal was named GA for the 2009 WA netball Premier League team of the year, whilst Ebbott was runner up in this year’s Player’s Player award.

The West Coast Fever enjoyed their strongest season to date in 2009, and will be looking for a finals charge in 2010 with Neal and Ebbott adding depth to a talented and youthful squad.
