WAIS diving graduiates Nikita Hains and Maddison Keeney selected for 2022 FINA Diving Grand Prix in Canada as part of the leadup to the 2022 World Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medallist Keeney, who missed the 2020 Tokyo Games with injury will return to international competition in the women’s three metre synchro.

Hains who made her Olympic debut last year will compete in the women’s 10 metre platform and 10 metre synchro.

Diving Australia General Manager High Performance and Pathways, Steve Foley, said, “With the exception of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, it has been a more than 24 months since an Australian Diving Team has left our shores.

“With our focus, and the focus of our divers, set on this year’s World Championships in Budapest and Birmingham Commonwealth Games, Canada Cup is an excellent chance to test ourselves against the rest of the world.

“We know that every year at Canada Cup dozens of top-notch divers take to the boards especially those from Commonwealth countries including Canada and Great Britain, for our divers it will give them a nice test run for what they can expect in July and August in Birmingham.”
