Second Place for Durbridge in Burrumbeet

Durbridge fell just short of his third consecutive title yesterday at the MARS Cycling Australian Road Cycling Championships in Burrumbeet.

 

Queenslander Michael Hepburn edged out two-time reigning champion Luke Durbridge by 11.6 seconds in the elite men’s individual time trial.

Although disappointed, Durbridge still gave praise towards his friend and teammate.

“I thought I gave it everything and thought my everything was going to be enough today, but it wasn’t so obviously Heppy was on a super ride,” said Durbridge “Full credit to Hepburn he’s a great time traillist, I’m really proud of the guy he’s one of my best friends.”

WA’s Jessica Allen Places third with the time of (42:33.86)in the Women’s Under 23 time trial.



The elite Men’s and Women’s and U23 Criterium will take place in Stuart Street, Ballarat later today.
