The Be Active Western Stars have produced some high quality basketball in their home round to move into second on the WNWBL ladder.

In their first of four games, the Stars dominated Victoria winning 75 – 26. WAIS athlete Amber Merritt led the scoring with an incredible 50 point haul and 11 rebounds.

Their next game ended in a 42-54 point loss to competition leaders the MineCraft Comets who managed a huge third quarter to recover from a strong first half by the Stars.

Game three was another victory, this time over the Flames. Captain Amber Merritt once again led the way with a triple double consisting of 42 points, 19 rebounds and 12 assists.

The final game, and their fourth in three days, saw the girls comprehensively take down the Bears 68-38, in a strong performance to close out a successful weekend.

WAIS scholarship holder Georgia Inglis notched up double digits in both points and assists on multiple occasions over the weekend, with highs of 17 and 11 respectively against Victoria.
