The Western Sting have replicated their Round One results of the Australian Netball League once again splitting the points with their opposition, the Canberra Giants.

On the road for the second consecutive week, the Western Sting took on the Canberra Giants in Sydney over the weekend.

Their first match saw them execute a stunning comeback after falling five goals behind at half time.

After a slow start to the game the Western Australian side were able to regroup at the main break and come out firing for the third quarter.

Strong defensive efforts saw the Sting pull back to within two goals early in the quarter, however their efforts did not stop here continuing to apply the pressure giving themselves a one goal lead at the final break.

The Sting took advantage of an error by the Giants early in the fourth quarter, punishing their opposition with a run of three goals.

This momentum was proven to be unstoppable with the Western Australians claiming the win at the final whistle.

The second game of the round saw the tables turn, this time the Canberra Giants playing the comeback role.

The Sting raced ahead to a 12 goal lea din the first quarter thanks to excellent full court defensive pressure and effective transition and ball movement in attack.

The second quarter saw the home side implement attempts to regain some ground on the scoreboard, however their was little reward for their efforts as they found themselves ten goals down at half time.

Whilst there were a number of change sin the Sting side at half time, the Giants returned largely unchanged and reaped the benefits of their decision earning themselves a six goal run, bringing the score margin back to four.

The home side continued to apply pressure right until the three quarter time whistle where they were behind by a single goal.

Although the Sting put out their best efforts to stifle their oppositions flow in the final term they were unsuccessful with the Giants achieving the ultimate come back to take out the win.

The Western Sting have now returned to Perth in preparation for their first home round of the season against the Queensland Fusion this weekend.
