WA Youngsters Set for Junior World Champs

WA rowers Ben Gerrard and Hamish Henriques will commence their Junior World Championships campaign today in the Czech Republic as members of the Australian men’s coxed four.

The boys, who will row in the four alongside Logan Ullrich and Miller Rowe (coxed by Isaac Schmidt) will compete in heat three this afternoon from 3.20pm Perth time.

18 year-old City Beach resident Gerrard is a member of the Swan River Rowing Club, whilst Henriques, who turned 17 last February, has developed through the West Australian Rowing Club. He is also a resident of City Beach.

The Australian Junior Men’s Coxed Four squad is coached by Jamie Hewlett.

More than 750 athletes from 57 countries will race at the regatta, with Australia represented in the Junior Men’s and Women’s Single Sculls, the Junior Men’s and Women’s Coxed Fours, Junior Women’s Four and Junior Men’s Pair.
