It continues a tradition of WAIS athletes partnering with VenuesWest to achieve sporting success, including former ambassadors Brianna Throssell, Nina Kennedy and Robyn Lambird.

While Kurtis is currently competing in Europe, and Rhiannon has just landed in Dubai ahead of the para-athletics world championships, Gen Hart was on hand to receive the award from Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman, saying

“I am at these venues all the time training and we really appreciate the support in helping us to achieve our dreams of representing our country” she said.

Minister Templeman says “These amazing young athletes will inspire juniors coming up through the ranks in their sport and encourage perseverance as they pursue their dreams of competing on the world stage.

“Many of the finest athletes in our State are not on big salaries and go through significant sacrifice to be competitive in their sport – financial assistance such as this helps them pursue their dreams and inspire others in the community” he said.
