Western Australian’s Shine at Oceania Track Championships

With the Oceania Track Championships well underway in Cambridge, New Zealand, WAIS cyclists Conor Leahy and Rihana Pezaj have put forward some impressive performances, both achieving podium finishes.

Day one of the Championships saw Rihana Pezaj shine alongside teammate Skye Robson.

The pairing competed in the Under 19s Women’s Team Sprint where they came away with the gold medal.

Pezaj also competed in the Under 19s Women’s 500m Time Trial where she finished in fourth place, the highest ranking of the Australian riders. 

Day two saw Conor Leahy take to the track to compete in the Individual Pursuit.

A strong race saw him finish in third position behind fellow Australian, Jordan Kerby who won gold and New Zealand’s Jared grey in second.

With a total of nine titles up for grabs the Oceania Track Championships are set to finish today, the 23rd of November.
