WAIS Tours

Who: WAIS Tours are run by high performance athletes. Athletes who use and know the services in operation at WAIS and can explain why we do it, and why it’s important. By utilizing WAIS athletes – our greatest resource – we are able to offer the most intimate and detailed information possible so that members of the Western Australian public can share the journey with WAIS in our attempts to Produce Champions.

What: WAIS Tours take groups behind the scenes and showcase a day in the life of a WAIS athlete. Tours include a guide through athlete training environments, the WAIS recovery centre and a walk through explanation of the WAIS science laboratory and the strength and conditioning centre. Each tour finishes with a Question and Answer session so that participants can ask questions that are of specific interest to the group.

Where: WAIS Tours are held in Mt Claremont, where the WAIS facility is located as part of Challenge Stadium.

Why: As a not for profit organization, the Western Australian Institute of Sport is largely State government funded. WAIS actively seeks to enrich the Western Australian community by providing talented WA athletes with a support network to achieve their athletic potential. WAIS Tours are a way of sharing that dream with members of the public, and we see this as a way of giving back to the people of Western Australia.

When: WAIS Tours are available between 9am – 4pm, Monday to Friday by appointment.
