Drugs in Sport
All WAIS athletes are required to attend Drugs in Sport information seminars as a requirement of their scholarships.

Whilst WAIS makes every effort to ensure that we provide the latest information to our athletes, it is the responsibility of the athletes to regularly check for updates and information on the WADA website (World Anti Doping Agency).

WAIS Drugs in Sport Education
To all WAIS athletes,
As part of your WAIS Athlete Agreement you have agreed to abide by the WAIS anti-doping policy. This policy is both consistent and complimentary to National Sport Organisation (NSO) and the Australian Sports Commission policies.

The policies and procedures developed to support drug free sport are very detailed and subject to change.

Importantly a policy of strict liability exists in elite sport – everything that enters your body is your responsibility - ignorance is not a defence.

Therefore it is essential that all WAIS athletes (squad members and individual scholarship holders) attend a minimum of one Drug Education Seminar every two years. All new athletes must attend a seminar in their first year at WAIS.
