Fun and Games at the 2018 Ron Tough Yachting Foundation Pacer Cup

Last weekend saw the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club host the 2018 Ron Tough Yachting Foundation Pacer Cup.

The event pits WA sailors against one another but with a unique twist.

Established sailing stars such as Matt Wearn, Nia Jerwood, Chris Charlwood and a host of others, jumped in Pacer boats and paired with young developing WA talent.

This resulted in spectacular racing and terrific fun but more importantly, plenty of brilliant opportunities for the next generation of local sailors to learn from the very best of the current elite ranks.

2018 bragging rights went to Richard Maher and crew Giacomo Helliar. Zoe Thomson scored second place with Will Drew, whilst the podium was rounded out by Lachy Gilmour and Aaron Teo.

In all, 28 teams took part in fabulous spring sunshine with the event heralded a huge success.
