Gold Medal to Irvine at Australian Junior Diving Champs

The 2015 Australian Elite Junior Championships are currently being contested in Sydney.

WAIS athlete Tamara Irvine collected a gold medal on day two of competition after scoring 466.90 for first place in the girl’s Jnr B 3m springboard.

Irvine finished less than a point clear of Victorian Anna-Rose Keating(466.05), with fellow WAIS athlete and former gymnast Nikita Hains fourth, with 438.40 points.

In day one competition, Irvine also collected a bronze medal in the Jnr B Platform, scoring 334.35 for third place with Hains again in fourth with 327.85. Gold went to Keating.

In the Girl’s Jnr A 3m springboard, WAIS athlete Teju Williamson performed well for third place and a score of 438.75.

The Championships continue in Sydney, through til Friday, with results going towards selections for the Australia-age representative squads.
