WAIS athlete Kim Mickle is poised to make her second Diamond League appearance for 2015, when the Commonwealth Champion competes in the women’s javelin at the Paris Diamond League this weekend.

The City of Love will instead pit together a field that represents a virtual mock-up of August’s World Championships in Beijing, with the world’s best throwers scheduled to go head to head on July 4.

Mickle faces both, the current World and Olympic champions in German, Christina Obergfoll and Czech Republic thrower, Barbora Spotakova respectively.

The start list also includes current world lead throw Sunette Viljoen (66.62m) whilst, US competitor Kara Winger (66.47m) and Slovakian Martina Ratej (65.75m) boast season bests worthy of mention.

Mickle for her part is continuing through a training block targeted towards this year’s world championships. Her domestic season saw her throw a season best of 66.57m, which still stands second furthest for 2015, behind only South African, Viljoen.

Mickle is on a three week trip, and will also compete in the Diamond League meet in London across July 24-25, with lower ranked competitions in Europe scheduled in between.
