Six-time world champion Cameron Meyer will make a long awaited return to track cycling at this month’s national Madison Championships in Victoria on December 20.

WAIS scholarship holder Meyer, will make a cameo appearance back in the velodrome, when he combines with Leigh Howard, the man he won two world titles with in the same event.

They have won one national title as a pair (2012), with Meyer also winning with Jack Bobridge (2011) and Glenn O’Shea (2010).

Meyer in recent times has relinquished track duties as he has built a successful career in road cycling, with Australian professional team GreenEDGE.

Meyer and Howard will come up against a number of formidable combinations at this year’s championships, including the aforementioned O’Shea who is gunning for his fourth crown. He will form a superb Australian pairing with Jack Bobridge.

Defending champion Alex Edmondson will partner with 2013 champion Scotson, while WAIS athletes Sam Welsford and Scott Sunderland headline the teams from the west.

WAIS will also be represented by Reece Tucknott, combining with former scholarship holder and track world champion Michael Freiberg, whilst junior road world championship medallist Michael Storer will link with Alex Rendell completing the WAIS combinations.
